" Brevdue i Europa " (Carrier Pigeon in Europe) is an educational geography game originally developed by Esko Vörgren and Markku Heinonen for Tieto-Kurre in Finland. The Norwegian version is made by Tor Arne Wølner for Kirke-, Utdannings- og Forskningsdepartementet, FOU-seksjonen in 1991. It was distributed by Statens Filmsentral. The uploader got this 720k 2DD floppy disk from a relative working in the Norwegian school system in 1993. It is an unauthorized copy. The licence details and high score list has been scrubbed, but the remaining data should be untainted. Why some files has timestamps from 1996 and 1997 remains a mystery. Licence information was embedded in the executable. The provided script patch_licence.py can overwrite this information with the name of your own school for maximised nostalgia. The disk also includes an installation script INSTALL.BAT by Sunil Kumra (1991-09-18), which in turn uses DSCOPY.EXE by Gaute Moxnes (1989-11-09). DSCOPY is a utility for "quick copying of files for all versions of MS and PC DOS". Run the program with " DUE.BAT ".
