You play as Samuel, a solitary lighthouse keeper on the remote Blackstone Island. Tasked with the daily routine of maintaining the lighthouse beacon to protect passing ships, you’re trying to forget your haunting past. But beneath the island something very sinister stirs, and the safe order of your life is about to unravel. The Beacon’s End aims to recreate the atmosphere of classic PS1-era survival horror games, pairing a short 15 minute experience with PSX- and VHS-style visuals, immersive sound design, and dread-soaked ambience. Originally developed in just one week, the game is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Expect dark corridors, creeping isolation, strange whispers beneath the waves, and the feeling that the beacon you tend may be more than just a light.
