The Game Boy DX Collection

Game Boy

A collection of ROM Hacks that aims to bring monochrome Game Boy games to the Game Boy Color, with some offering additional content and/or quality of life improvements. This shouldn't be considered as a complete collection, as I may not potentially tracked down other DX ROM hacks, and only relying on this forum post on ROMHacking.net for all (as of June 22, 2025) of them. I also did not include the other language hacks for the Pokemon Red and Blue Full Color Edition ROMs due to time constraints. These will be added in an update. If you found a colorization/DX ROM Hack that aims to bring a GB game to GBC that isn't here already, please do contact me on my socials (usually lucss21a). All games are pre-patched, and are tested on SameBoy 1.0.1. Please note that I mainly tested them if they booted up at all, so please contact me for errors; though I also highly suggest to repatch the ROMs with the exact same patches before contacting the hack's author. (Especially with the Kirby's Dream Land DX ones, it's a lot and I couldn't bother with testing them intensively at the moment.) For emulators, even the "playable enough" GBC emulators should play these; but I recommend SameBoy (for it's high accuracy), or for Android either GBC.emu (which uses a less accurate but still great enough core based on Gambatte) or My OldBoy! (which has multiplayer support).
