The fourth entry in the Dezaemon series (though it is the second named installment compared to the previous entries), Dezaemon 2 includes numerous updates to its predecessor. These include the ability to make side-scrolling stages, the ability to make cutscenes, two-player support, a larger palette limit, improved music support, and the ability to take snapshots of customizable sets of flat-colored 3D polygons for use as sprites. The game includes five sample games (two of which are hidden): Biometal Gust (a horizontal-scrolling shooter and a spiritual sequel to the developer's SNES game BioMetal ), Ramsie (a vertical-scrolling shooter), Daioh P! (a port of the series's previous Daioh Gale game using the pre-rendered polygon feature), Vexsarsion (a hidden variation of Biometal Gust), and ELFiN (a hidden cutesy shooter).
