Exobius was a freeware pseudo-3D shoot-em-up written in Modula-2 and released in 1995. It was very glitchy, buggy, jerky framerate, and did not play very well. After finding the source code on a backup CD and getting it to build using DOSBox, this remaster was released in 2024. It's still far from perfect by any means, but it's a much better looking, sounding and playing game overall. This version has several enhancements, optimisations and bug fixes. This version has been optimised to run on a 486/33 with VGA Graphics Adapter, which should be: - DOSBox: “fixed 13,500” cycle CPU speed, with “vgaonly” or any of the “svga_*” machine types. - MiSTer: Default 486 Core (as of early 2024), set to 33MHz. Please check you are using these speed settings – slower or faster may lead to the game being unplayably fast or slow, or not working fully at all.
