Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost Touhou Juuouen Beast King Garden ~ Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost (東方獣王園 〜 Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost) is the nineteenth official installment of the Touhou Project. It is the third VS-shmup entry in the series. The game was released on August 13th, 2023 at Comiket 102. Gameplay Main articles: Gameplay, Strategy, Netplay, Spell Cards, Ability Cards, and Achievements Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost is a split-screen vertical-scrolling danmaku shooting game where two characters must shoot and dodge bullet patterns while unleashing attacks and character-specific spell cards onto the other player. Similar gameplay is present in the earlier entries, Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream and Phantasmagoria of Flower View. concept Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost was designed to be a sequel to Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream and Phantasmagoria of Flower View in terms of gameplay, alongside Twinkle Star Sprites. Twinkle Star Sprites' gameplay, containing two players simultaneously engaging in shooter gameplay while attacking their opponent was the main inspiration for Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream's gameplay. It combines this style with Unconnected Marketeers' Ability Card mechanic, where each boss in the Story Mode rewards the player with a small buff based on the character defeated. Story Main articles: Story, Translation, and Characters Following the opening of the markets, Gensokyo's land has abruptly lost its ownership and an invasion from Hell's Animal Realm has begun. The game's cast all seek to either bring the invasion to a halt or take advantage of the ongoing situation. Music Main article: Music Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost features 24 tracks, many of which originate from previous Touhou games, similar to Phantasmagoria of Flower View's use of tracks found before it. Press Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost was first announced by ZUN at Touhou Yomoyama News on April 18th, 2023, along with information about the story and gameplay, including development screenshots that revealed the 5 characters that would be playable in the demo. The trial CD was released on May 7th, 2023 at Reitaisai 20. An update that added the netplay was released on June 6th, 2023. On August 11th, 2023, a notice about the game was put out on Touhou Yomoyama News, detailing that its price was increased to 1500 yen from 1400 due to the current market prices, and that DirectX would not be included with it on the disk due to the total size of the game being larger than usual. The full game released on August 13th, 2023 at Comiket 102, with its release on Steam happening on the same day around 8 hours later.
