Plants Vs Zombies Horror Edition

2023 · horror · Popcap Studios, Nostalgic

This is an upload of a Plants Vs Zombies mod called "Plants vs Zombies Horror Edition". Gameplay-wise, it is identical to the original game, except the game is black and white, the whole game is stylized to be horror themed, and zombies have double the health (the zombies themselves, not their armor). The mod was developed and released by a user named Nostalgic2137 on Gamejolt ( https://gamejolt.com/@N0stalgic2137 ). I haven't been quite able to find the reason the mod was canceled and removed by the creator, but it appears that it is because he/she is working on a new Plants vs Zombies Horror mod, as indicated by a post Nostalgic made on his/her profile, which is probably the reason. Because of its obscurity on the internet, I decided to upload this game along with some footage of me playing the game. Even though this may go against the creator's wishes, I didn't want this game to become lost media. Q and A How do I play the game? Find the gray box with on the right of the page and click the "SHOW ALL" button in the DOWNLOAD OPTIONS (DO NOT click on any comments with massive amounts of blank space and random links; the websites are probably malicious). In the list of files, click "Plants Vs Zombies Horror Edition.zip" Your browser will either download it to the "downloads" folder of your computer or will ask you where to download it. The best place to download the folder is either in the downloads folder or the desktop folder. Right click the zipped folder and click the "unzip" or "extract" option. Extract to anywhere you like. Open the unzipped folder and double-click "pvz_widescreen.exe" If all the textures are messed up (i.e. in the wrong position), open the "options" button in the game and check the box that says "hardware acceleration" If you get an error message when opening the game that says "vcruntime140.dll" is missing (or something else similar), you have to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistribution Update RC: Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC from Official Microsoft Download Center Enjoy! :) Is it safe? As far as I know, yes. I got this directly from Nostalgic2137's upload on Gamejolt, so it is official. I have not experienced any malicious behavior playing this game, nor have I heard anyone else get malware from this game, so it should be safe. However, download files from the internet at your own risk! I am not responsible for any damage inflicted to your computer from downloading and opening this (nothing should happen, though). Does it work on MacOS or Linux? I can't say for MacOS, but on Linux I haven't been able to get it to run via Lutris, but it is likely that I just didn't find the right combination of settings. It may work by adding it to Steam by adding it as a non-Steam game. You can also use a virtual machine to get it to run, but the performance will be sub-optimal if your computer isn't quite powerful.
