SHERLOG SecurityCar

2006 · Wireframe Dreams · UAB Akelotė ir Ko.

This game is essentially a promotional item for the Czech company SECAR Bohemia, which specializes in car security systems. Made by Wireframe Dreams - a Lithuanian game developer company that is mostly known for its first ever Lithuanian-made real time strategy game PSI: Syberian Conflict. But who exactly made Sherlog is unclear, since the credits are nonexistant. The only place where this game is mentioned is the company's long-gone website wireframedreams.com A gameplay video on YouTube . A review on old-games.ru | ( archived ) Sherlog reuses a music track and some buildings from that other game. It features horrible (or just hard to get used to) 'realistic' controls, maps with mismatching information across the different languages. (The lithuanian map is the correct one, although it's missing the barricades.) It also supports mouse or joystick as input. The game itself seems to have been finished in 2005, yet the Latvian and Russian languages were added in the middle of 2006. I am unaware of a previous release. The goal is rather simple: Find a stolen car within ten minutes, the location changes each time. The game also ends itself if you manage to flip over the usually unflipable vehicle with the clunky controls. The videos, meshes and what seems to be heightmaps are all in proprietary file formats. But the two car models also come in a format that can be read by PSI: Syberian Conflict.
