WildCraft Animal Sim Online: Zombie Mod [PC]
Windows · macOS · Linux · Baempaieo
A simple mod derived from my own unofficial PC port of WildCraft: Animal Sim Online . The following adds a small "zombified" touch by including the scrapped zombie skins that the devs discarded all the way back in 2024, but can also play as 3 of the enemy animals. Someone on YouTube misleadingly called the zombie skins a "leaked update" that was taken "from the development studio" (gaining the S3DMain.smf file from an older version, then extracted the file with QuickBMS) and "hacked into the game's source code to gain access to the full game" (opened the extracted contents with ShiVa Editor Web) for free internet points. As blatant as that misinformation was, what it wasn't actually told is that the zombie skins were hidden assets from an older release ( 35.0 ~ 35.6 ) and the devs pulled them away within the next updates, becoming a scrapped concept. Keep in mind that both that version and the asset pull took place in 2024, making any claims of the unused skins being part of a "leaked update" horribly misleading. If people were to datamine any recent release of the game, the only remnant of that scrapped idea is a zombie skin for the enemy Fox. The devs forgot to delete that one. Changes from the base game: Playable enemy Wolf, Fox, and Lynx (replaces their playable counterparts), featuring unofficial skins made by yours truly and the unused zombie texture as an usable skin; Changed every enemy's texture into their unused zombie one; You can name your animal any "profane" word (inherited from the unofficial PC port); Known Issues: Has the same unfixed issues from the unofficial PC port (feel free to check the TRG Unofficial PC Ports readme to know more about them); Some cosmetics don't apply well on the playable enemy model, except for hats and masks; The above is more of a technical problem between the enemy and playable animal models here. Surprisingly enough, both have the same bone rig, except the enemies have their eyes unrigged/static. To add more to it, both are textured differently, hence why some of the cosmetics clip on the model wrong; What comes in the .zip package: The game itself ( wildcall.smf ); It's Resources folder; A folder (named 57f947b8 ) containing a custom savefile. The following has 3 animals and several cosmetics unlocked, featuring an handful of gems and acorns (which you can see in the archive's folder); Minimum System Requirements: Windows Version: XP and up; Linux Kernel: every distro that has been released from 2013 onwards; MacOS Version: MacOS X and up; RAM: 1GB; GPU: Every Intel/AMD iGPU should suffice, but it also runs on dGPUs aswell. Runs amazing with the open-source NVIDIA (nouveau) drivers; Free Space on disk: 500MBs; How to Install: Download the WildCraft Animal Sim Online: Zombie Mod.zip file; Once downloaded, unpack it on whichever folder you like and keep the wildcall.smf file in a spot you can easily reach; Cut the Resources folder; If you are on Windows , open your file explorer and go to C:\%AppData%\Roaming , then create the following folder path: Stonetrip\Player\57f947b8\ . Once done, get into all of those folders and paste the Resources folder in it; If you are on Linux , create in your home a folder named .StoneTrip , then paste the Resources folder in it; Launching the game: Go to the S3DMain Players folder and pick the folder for your platform (and architecture, if you're using a Linux distro); If you picked Windows , copy all of the files from the Windows folder and paste them where the wildcall.smf file is at; If you picked 64-bit Linux , copy the S3DEngine_Linux_x86_64.bin file and paste it on where you had placed the wildcall.smf file; If you picked 32-bit Linux , copy the S3DEngine_Linux_x86_32.bin file and paste it where you had placed the wildcall.smf file; To play the game, open a terminal in the same folder you had pasted the standalone S3DPlayer; If you're on Windows , type: S3DEngine_Windows.exe wildcall.smf ; If you're on Linux , type: chmod +x ./S3DEngine_Linux_x86_64.bin or chmod +x ./S3DEngine_Linux_x86_32.bin , then ./S3DEngine_Linux_x86_64.bin wildcall.smf or ./S3DEngine_Linux_x86_32.bin wildcall.smf ; Importing the savefile: If you're on Windows , copy the contents of the 57f947b8 folder and paste them into C:\%AppData%\Roaming\Stonetrip\Player\57f947b8\ ; If you're on Linux, copy directly the 57f947b8 folder and paste it into ~/.StoneTrip/.saves/ ; Startup Scripts: If you feel annoyed of having to open the terminal every and each time just to launch the game, there is a folder named Startup Scripts that contains some handy shell scripts that can make the process lesser trivial to do. To use them, just follow these steps: Go to the Startup Scripts folder from the archive, pick the folder for your platform, then download the run.sh / run.bat script; Once downloaded, cut the run.sh / run.bat file; Paste it in the same folder you had extracted and moved the wildcall.smf file into; If you're on Windows , simply double-click on the run.bat sc
