A modified version of Viper Puzzle Paradise for Windows, originally bundled with CD-ROM Scholar Vol. 2. The original game was unplayable on most computers because: - There was no wait timing after a frame was drawn, leading timing-based minigames running too fast and ending near-instantly. (The game was originally designed for Mac where presumably this wasn't an issue, then received a Windows port.) - The game required Director Player 1.1.0.0 which was on the game CD, but this meant if a computer ever had a version later than that (even if uninstalled), the game would fail to load movie files and crash. - There were colour-depth problems. It advises you to use 256 colour mode, but the game displayed 2-colour monochrome on many displays with this option. High Colour would work, but would not be able to use the subtract colour commands properly, turning tiles in puzzles solid black. This modified version fixes those issues as best as possible. Code changes were diagnosed and modified by a real person (that's me!) and then were implemented with GPT-6 Astra. If there are any further problems, let me know so I can fix them! I've got it to a point where 'it now works perfectly on my old Windows VM' but who knows if other configurations still mess things up. It's truly an unpredictable game!
