Machinarium: a catalog of every known digital build (2009–2026) Amanita Design's Machinarium has been sold digitally for seventeen years, under changing file names, engines and storefront wrappers. This catalog records every digital build I could identify: Amanita's own direct-sale releases and patches from 2009, and the full run of GOG.com installers for Windows, macOS and Linux. Two GOG installers are missing from every archive I know of. They are described at the end, together with a way to recognize them if you happen to have one. Compiled by MelkiyProd. Last updated 23 September 2026. Conventions. Filenames are given exactly as GOG delivered them, so inconsistent suffixes ( _a_v2_.pkg , gog_1_21134 ) are authentic, not typos. The one exception is setup_machinarium_1.0.0.4.exe , whose version suffix is my archival convention (see the Windows table). GOG's website and changelog logs use binary units (MiB), while the macOS Finder uses decimal MB, so the same file shows two sizes (295.4 vs ~309.7). I state which one I mean, and where I hold the file I give the exact size in bytes. Checksums are MD5. For the 2009 Amanita builds they come from Amanita's own published list (and, where I hold the file, were re-verified locally); for everything else they are my own calculations. 1. The Flash era (2009–2017) Amanita did not version its 2009 direct-sale builds. It overwrote the files on its server, so three different builds share one filename. Build Live from Time on server How it happened v1 16 Oct 2009 8 days Pre-order release v2 24 Oct 2009 ~35 days Files overwritten on server v3 ~28 Nov 2009 until 2017 Overwritten; full installers include Patches 01 and 02 Humble Indie Bundle #2 14 Dec 2010 – Distributed the same v3 files Definitive Edition 21 Sep 2017 (Windows) – Flash version withdrawn; GOG build 2698 Build files and MD5 All three builds were distributed under the same filenames. The v1 and v2 MD5 values are those Amanita published on its blog ("Machinarium release MD5 checksums", 18 Oct 2009, archived copy). The v3 files are ones I hold and hashed myself. The labels v1, v2 and v3 are mine: Amanita's list has only two sets (the pre-order files, and the files from 24 Oct 2009), and the v3 set does not appear in any official list. I call it v3 because it matches an unofficial list of the Humble Indie Bundle files and because the name is used for it in a 2014 torrent and on the Amanita forum. A _v2 suffix in a filename does not prove the version: one forum user received a file named Machinarium_full_en_v2.tar.gz that had the v1 MD5. File date 21 Jan 2010. Humble distributed it without a version suffix; it circulates as Machinarium_full_en_v3.dmg , and my copy is byte-identical to that torrent. Machinarium_full_en.exe 363,218,549 7ec5432c000e47941f816fc18d31ae1d Held. File date 21 Jan 2010. Machinarium_full_en.tar.gz 360,369,185 87c4f4aecfbb69c1aecbb7d92e60542d Held. File date 21 Jan 2010. The ~28 Nov 2009 date for v3 comes from Amanita's Patch 02 announcement, which says the patch is not needed for copies bought after 28 November 2009. The v3 files I hold carry 21 Jan 2010 file dates, so they may be a later re-pack of that state, and the MD5 of any file served in between is unknown. If you have a v2 file (24 Oct – ~28 Nov 2009), the MD5 values above make it a ten-second check.
