JM2-Mechanik : A Mechanik route featuring Japanese scenery, new sounds, a new cabin, and new physics. Author: Iskander. [MECHANIK.EXE to play] DESCRIPTION "Mechanik" is a train simulator developed in 1997 by two Polish students, Aleksander Madej and Robert Kowalski. The game allows users to operate trains, offering a realistic driving experience for its time. Initially, the simulator focused on the Polish EN57 electric multiple unit, but it later received various routes and modifications created by enthusiasts, expanding its variety of scenarios. Despite being an old software, "Mechanik" is still appreciated by railway simulation enthusiasts, especially due to its simplicity and the possibility of adding custom content. Some routes and modifications created for "Mechanik" have been preserved, and I have compiled as many as I could find. To ensure they are not lost, I am making them available here. HOW TO RUN THE GAME OR ROUTES To run "Mechanik" on modern systems, it is necessary to use an emulator such as DOSBox, which emulates an MS-DOS environment compatible with the game. If you are using an original retro machine with Windows 95, 98, or MS-DOS, simply navigate to the folder of the desired route or the original game and run MECHANIK.EXE . CONTROLS z - zero power x - power 1 c - power 2 v - power 3 b - power 4 n - power 5 m - power 6 a - horn low s - horn high cursor up - decrease brake force cursor down - increase brake force end - departure signal page down - open/close doors at the right side delete - open/close doors at the left side spacebar - reset vigilance devices See more instructions and sign instructions in MECHANIK.DOC. Some routes have their own specific signaling rules and interface, so each route folder contains a different "MECHANIK.DOC".
