Terep is a DOS 3D terrain off-road car physics simulator, created by Dénes Nagymáthé, that was first released on the 4th of May, 1996. This is a commemorative, 30th anniversary pack of the game, made to be a starting point for a new generation of players, and containing a cleaned-up and organised/curated archive of all the community created content for the game that has been preserved to this date. It features: Two game launchers (Terep Select): one full graphical, one simple and fast 52 tracks/maps/levels 30 car textures/skins -- 8 brand new ones A map/texture editor Colour palettes for creative reference English language user documentation A preservation archive of additional content This version of Terep is also optimised to run in DOSBox. To start the game on a fast computer, run TERSEL.BAT. Alternatively, you can run TERWIN.EXE for a performance-lighter menu experience. The controls are: Car 1: The arrow keys, or the keypad arrows and keypad 5 to break. Car 2: W, A, D, Z, and S to break. Car 3: I, J, L, M, and K to break. Car 4: T, F, H, V, and G to break. If a car turns over, you can use the 1 or 2 key on your keyboard to turn it around. Use the TAB key to cycle through the cars. You can use + and - (up and down), and * and / (zoom in and out) on the keypad to adjust the view. The game also supports split-screen two-player mode: Press F9 to turn on split-screen mode. Q to cycle through the cars on the second half of the screen. Menu controls: Use the arrow keys (or keypad) to browse the menu, ENTER to select an item, and ESC to cancel, close, or quit. If you wish to delete a track from your copy of the game, press the DEL key while you have it selected in the menu.
