EntrapNet, An Online Game & Contest for "The Net" In today's world of online information, all a good hacker needs is the right knowledge and the right program. By accessing remote computers on the Internet, the modern cyber-criminal can destroy or alter sensitive data without ever leaving their home or office. Flight plans, medical and criminal records, top secret government information, even someone's identity -- everything is on computer, everything is vulnerable. "EntrapNet" is an interactive adventure game set in the world of "The Net". In the game, you work for a group of criminal super-hackers, who want you to go online to do some surveillance and snooping. Use your computer and your smarts to track down Angela Bennett (played in the movie by Sandra Bullock ). Visit Web sites and BBS's. Check your e-mail, pager and fax during the game for clues. Get special clues every week from this Web site. Solve the puzzles in time to win prizes, but don't get caught, or you'll do some serious time yourself. To enter the contest, you need to download "EntrapNet". Go to the "Get the Game" section on this page to send a copy to your home computer by modem. Play the game and solve the four puzzles -- one for each week until August 4th, 1995. When you correctly solve a puzzle, the game will give you a Registration Number. Then come back to this World Wide Web page (no need to write it down now -- the game will tell you where to go) and enter the Registration Number in the Contest Entry Form. The first 150 valid entries each day are eligible to win prizes, including "The Net" t-shirts and beach towels, an AT&T; phone and pager, KPT Bryce by HSC Software, and a trip for two to Krystal Ixtapa resort in Mexico, including round-trip airfare, courtesy of Krystal Hotels.
