These files were originally posted by Robin of 8-Bit Show and Tell on Youtube. He made a video about the Information Society "Super Secret Coded Message" floppy disc released to promote their first album - the self-titled Information Society - and played around with it. He also posted the files contained in the floppy on the comments for the video, so I asked him for permission to repost them. I've also created a 320k floppy disk image that contains the files so you can just restore them to a real floppy and use it on your real hardware! Remember, this is not a proper disk image. I created it with the files from the zip that Robin posted. The floppy contained a small, but simple executable (insoc.exe) that contains information about the band and even has a super secret message that you can figure out! But if you don't want to figure it out, the secret code is 2. Yes, really. The disk also included the source code for the program. The program (but not the source code) was also available at the official Information Society website in the early 2000s as " InSoc88.exe ". The Wayback Archive has a capture of the page, and I can confirm that it's exactly the same as the one included in this page. The disk scan was originally posted at Insoc's old website. Edit: Now playable in a browser! Hit that play button to try it out!
