This is an UNOFFICIAL archive for the game, and will be removed if legitimately requested. Ordinary Sonic Fangame (titled X's Sonic Fangame in-game) is a Sonic fan game released on Game Jolt by @his_legacy and developed by a team of anonymous users. The game is still in active development and is currently not fully finished. Original description: "Evade Sonic.EXE in warped versions of the original Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) zones." Pro tip: Enable Infinite Lives in settings if you're planning to play Arcade Mode. You're gonna need it . -Default Controls Arrow Keys - Move Z - Accept/Button 1 X - Back/Button 2 C - Button 3 Enter - Start Esc - Back Alt+F4 - The Coward's Way Out Ordinary Sonic Fangame is designed to be a remake of the original Ordinary Sonic ROM Hack made by Cinossu for Sonic Hacking Contest 2013 in a Godot-based engine, being a version of Sonic Worlds Next that has slowly been modified to use more and more original code. Note: Although builds are only released for Windows natively, the game will run flawlessly on both Mac and Linux using Wine. The only reason native builds are not released is because "Nobody wants to play Sonic.appimage." The improvements over the original ROM hack include: -3 (soon 5) New Playable Characters (Italic text: Not currently implemented in recent release.) Tails Knuckles Amy Rose (using an original moveset based on Advance with some tweaks, and sprites by E-211-Psi from TSR) Metal Sonic Shadow -Extra Moves For Sonic (Must be enabled in Settings) Spin Dash Twin Spin Attack Drop Dash Super Peel-Out -Sonic.EXE/X A.I. System Rather than simply slowly coming in from the side of the screen, X now runs through the levels to chase you. He is capable of jumping and Spin Dashing to close in on you. He will also begin to fly, ignoring collision, if you get far enough away from him or when he spawns. -Unique Alterworld Gimmicks/Graphics (Italic text: Not implemented.) Green Hill Zone and Marble Zone have unique tilesets, with every zone planned to get a unique appearance! Some zones will have unique gimmicks, such as spots that allow you to hide from Sonic.EXE/X. You can now beat levels in the alterworld, unlike the original ROM hack which would have X waiting for you if you try. However, this will result in starting the next level already in the alterworld, which could be a challenge. (Pro tip: You can restart the level to get around this (At least until the next release)!) -More Zones Star Light Zone is now playable, with Scrap Brain Zone (and Labyrinth Zone Act 3) upcoming to finally complete the experience! -Unique Alterworld Music Every zone has a unique song for the alterworld! (Star Light Zone A-Side is the only exception currently, using a Lots of Lights remix as a placeholder, the actual track has been created but not implemented.) Unique drowning theme and level clear themes that only play in the alterworld! -Plenty Of Extras Reskin options for X, you can choose from Sonic.exe, Amy.exe, and...Postman Pat? Color customization options for Sonic.exe with plenty of options to choose from with joke names. You can choose between two distinct soundtracks for the game, A-Side being composed by an anonymous composer, and the B-Sides being composed by the talented GiivAmber, also known for creating OST tracks for the Super Mario Galaxy DS creepypasta. Extra modes based on famous Sonic ROM Hacks, including FrazzDude Mode (based on Sonic 2 XL), Ring Ride (not implemented yet), and Omochao (also not yet implemented) modes. -Unofficial Changelog (newest release first) Demo 4 (released October 31st, 2024) The first release to come to Game Jolt and the first official release of the game, this includes almost every zone from Sonic 1 (excluding LZ3 and Scrap Brain Zone), the final Alterworld graphics for Green Hill Zone and Marble Zone (which is now complete compared to Demo 2, which stopped prematurely at Act 2, and Demo 3, where it was not present). This release also includes the new reskins Amy and Pat, the B-Side soundtrack, more added recolor options, and the ability to enable infinite lives. Demo 3 (released June 14th, 2024) The final demo released before the first public GJ release, this includes Green Hill Zone and Spring Yard Zone (using the original hack palette compared to the new palette in Demo 4 added to prepare for the circus themed graphics that will soon be implemented). This is also the first demo to include the custom Alterworld soundtrack, having only the A-Side as the B-Side was not created at the time of it's release. Demo 2 Shoe Patch (Released January 3rd, 2024) Identical to Demo 2 but with bug fixes and the first version of the custom X color feature. Labelled as "Demo 2" and recommended download for this version of the gam
