Vozvrashchenie ( The Return)

2003 · drama · Andrey Zvyagintsev

The life of two brothers undergoes a sudden change when their father suddenly appears, whom they only remembered from an old photograph. Is it really their father? Why did he return after so long? The boys will find the answer to their questions on a remote and isolated island after an exciting journey with their father through the beautiful landscapes of Siberia. The debut film of Russian director Zvyagintsev, which won the Golden Lion in Venice, was praised by critics as "a film about love, loss of relationships and entering adulthood, with irresistible emotional power".
