The plot of the movie «King of Thieves» is based on real events that took place in April 2015 at the Hatton Garden depositary. The story revolves around one of the most famous thieves — 77-year-old Brian Rider, who assembles a team of criminals to commit the largest bank heist in British history. A group of people in pension or pre-pension age, posing as gas fitters, successfully extracted an enormous sum of money from the storage cells. After stealing the large sum of money, the thieves fled the crime scene, but when the police started to take interest in them, a split occurred among the gang members.
