NIGHT WATCH/NOCHNOI DOZOR/НОЧНОЙ ДОЗОР (2004) Dir. Timur Bekmambetov Original Russian theatrical uncut 115 minute version. Russian with optional English subtitles. Source: original Channel One 'Russia' DVD. Night Watch is a 2004 Russian urban fantasy supernatural thriller film directed by Timur Bekmambetov and written by Bekmambetov and Laeta Kalogridis. It is loosely based on the 1998 novel The Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko. A summary of changes made for the International Cut from this comprehensive comparison : "The prologue is extended and contains more information about "the others" now and some scenes have been redubbed to make the entire "the others" concept simpler to understand. Furthermore Anton has become a "seer" in the International Version and some CG visions have been added as well. Nevertheless the missing scenes from the Russian Version are recognizable in most cases. Two subplots have been entirely removed to tighten the plot and reduce the amount of characters. Apart from that some scenes have been edited, a couple of explaining flashbacks have been added to be exact. The other differences are more or less redundant, a lot of short scenes are missing etc." Оригинальная Русская 115 минутная версия, Английские субтитры.
