Your Hit Parade: "Please Mr Sun" by Dorothy Collins (Classic TV)

music · musical

Clip from the classic TV show "Your Hit Parade", with fairly-obscure 50's singer Dorothy Collins singing the popular song "Please Mr Sun" live on national TV. "Your Hit Parade" ran from 1950 to 1959, and was both popular and award winning. The show featured a bunhc of talented singers performing covers of hits of the day, and was very tasteful. The show died after music began to change, and the show got very weak as time went on. This clip is from a 1952 episode, and is pretty classy. As with most live 50's TV shows, "Your Hit Parade" is public domain.
