Late 1980s. After a series of life tests, the military pilot Sergey Denisov, a descendant of soldiers, is selected to serve on the new-generation aircraft carrier cruiser 'Admiral Kuznetsov'. After the signing of the Belavezha Accords and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the garrison where Denisov serves splits into two factions. At the peak of the conflict, the aircraft carrier crew ignores the Ukrainian authority's order and transfers the cruiser under Russian jurisdiction. To prevent the striking of the departing ship, the pilots decide to launch the interceptors.
