The Castilian nobleman Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar, known as El Cid, faithfully serves at the court of Sancho, the future ruler of the Kingdom of Castile and León. Rodrigo skillfully wields the sword Tizona — the only relic inherited from his father. El Cid helps Sancho defeat his brother Alfonso and hopes to secure a prominent position at court. However, instead, the young man becomes entangled in a plot that brings only blood, pain, and death.
