Boxing coach Nikolai Kolesnikov arrives in a remote provincial town for his ex-lover's funeral and realizes that a local crime figure is involved in her death. Kolesnikov starts his own investigation and simultaneously discovers that he has an adult son, Egor, who works as an operative. Instead of a cozy Moscow apartment, Kolesnikov finds himself in a dilapidated five-story building on the outskirts. In place of a gym and pool — a rusted barbell in the courtyard. But Kolesnikov is able to improve his surroundings for the better. He opens a boxing club, builds a relationship with his son, and helps him with investigations.
