Doom, Heretic And Hexen Commercial Compilations

Doom, Heretic and Hexen Commercial Compilations v2.1 ---------------------------------------------------- This is an archive and collection of all of the Doom/Doom II/Heretic/Hexen commercial compilation discs I could find online. I have extracted all of the disc images for ease of use and collected the artwork that I could for each. Do note that some of the discs have their own installer exes and lack a folder of loose wads/zips so they will still require an extra step on the users part. It's on my to do list to go through and extract all of these files and save the output. I also plan to, eventually, conglomerate all of the wad files from all the discs into one mega-collection so users can grab just the wads if they want. CREDIT goes to: - All the individuals who contributed to these Doomwiki pages https://doomwiki.org/wiki/List_of_commercial_compilations https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Shovelware_cover_art - All of those who ripped discs and uploaded them to archive.org. I have two lists on archive.org with all of the original CD images there so you can find the original uploaders: https://archive.org/details/@react1on/lists/5/doom-heretic-hexen-commercial-collection https://archive.org/details/@react1on/lists/6/non-doomwiki-commercial-compilations It's on my to do list to re-download and extract all the listed discs and when I do that I'll copy each of the archive.org usernames and list them individually - vertigo ======================================================================================================================== ======================================================================================================================== !!IMPORTANT!! These files are taken from, often very budget, 90s shovelware discs some of which have been known to contain viruses. As per Doomwiki: Some executables on the Doom II Mania disc are infected with the Tai-Pan.666 / Doom2Death virus. The virus (there are possibly more which aren't mentioned) is for DOS and probably won't affect modern machines but beware - https://www.commandcom.com/html/virus/jwenc/taipan666.html Please use your best judgment when running exes on your own machine. I take no responsibility for any damage done, I am simply trying to make these discs easily accessible. ****If you want to be safe and don't care about running the packed in launchers you can search the compilation for any files ending with .EXE and delete them**** ======================================================================================================================= ======================================================================================================================== To do ----- - Verify that extracted version of CD is the exact one listed on archive.org, sometimes they can differ as there are multiple copies on archive.org and I may list one when I had actually previously downloaded another. This happens as I didn't originally record all the download links for v1.0 of the collection - Extract wads from discs as needed so there is no need to run EXEs - Collect all possible information from new discs onto spreadsheet so doomwiki can be updated as needed (games supported, pwads, exlusives etc) - Check PC Gamer and over mag cover discs for wads. Some have wads and are undocumented (eg https://archive.org/details/cdrom-pcgamer-cd-13-1995-12) - Verify all images and note when some are missing (e.g only disc image, no front cover etc) - Upload new disc images to Doomwiki shovelware art page (doomwiki.org/wiki/Shovelware_cover_art) - Create "master" shovelware disc with ALL wads from ALL discs merged into one set - Possibly download and extract CDs again to have proper/original folder names in DISC folder (low priority) Changelog: v2.1 ---- - Added 4 new discs - Updated spreadsheet to include new discs and some information on them (not complete) - Tidied up changelog Added ----- ./Doom I & II Overload (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Nl) ./Doom's Day Collection (Canada) ./Shareware CD Compilation n.40 - Doom 1800 Niveaux (France) ./Total Ruin II (USA) Known missing ------------- Doom Add-On Levels Volume 2 D!MATCH 150 D!ZONE MAC D!ZONE v1.3 Demon Gate: Over 600 New Levels for Doom II v2.0 ---- - Added 56 new discs (including 4 previously errored discs: Doom + Accessories, Total Ruin, Doom CD, Doom Fever) - Sorted discs into images/disc subfolders - Downloaded all artwork I could find - Appropriated Doomwiki spreadsheet to track progress - https://doomwiki.org/wiki/List_of_commercial_compilations Added ----- ./1000_Great_Games_Valusoft_1997 ./3D Super CD Gaming ./Boom3ClassicPowerPack ./CDRIGameBoxVolume1 ./Cobra Powerpack (1995) 2 Discs ./Cobra_Doom_Utilities_1994 ./D!Zone 2 150 (USA) ./DEATHMATCH_MANIFESTO ./DOOM (CDR1401) ./DOOM Add-Ons (CD, publisher unknown) ./DOOM_CD ./DOOM_CD-ROM_Walnut_Creek_November_1994 ./DOOM_II_Mania_Volume_1_Tech_Express_Software_1995 ./DigitalWarfare ./Doom + Accessories (USA) ./Doom Heaven (USA) ./Doom II Extras Down & Dirty (Ca
