Sony Vaio Gate dock

operating-system · driver · Windows · macOS · Sony

Sony Vaio computers circa 2011 running Windows 7 shipped with an animated bubble dock at the top of the screen, à la Mac OS X dock (because that is what everyone was trying to copy back then). Software behaviour: When your mouse gets near the black bubble at the top of the screen, it will pop down as a dock or shelf, where you can drop shortcuts to programs. The links are stored as XML in AppData somewhere, and there is some default Sony shortcut nonsense, but overall it's quite a nice dock. This is a whole bunch of installers for different versions of the Sony Vaio Gate dock. Read the Readme.txt, which lists versions and sources. Some work on non-Sony computers, some will only install on Sony Vaio computers. The software is abandonware; Sony no longer manufactures or sells Vaio laptops.
