Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks USB Offline Installer

2013 · operating-system · recovery · macOS · Linux · Apple Inc.

This is a offline USB installer of Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks. This allows installation from the internet and does not need a mac or dmg related tools to help set up. It is a 16GB image that can overwrite a USB storage device with at least 16GB capacity. It is compressed using xz compression to save file space (5GB download rather then 16gb). Gnome disk utility on Linux can decompress and write the .img.xz file (marked as a ISO image on here in IA) at the same time. There are two major bugs with the offline Mavericks installer that you must know about: It can only create/modify or install to partitions if the HDD/SSD partition map is a GUID Partition Table (GPT) that happens to be created through Mac's disk utility. If the GPT partition table was created through a Windows or Linux app, The installer wont work. Same if your using another partition table like MBR (Master Boot Record). When you start installing to the partition, it will say its corrupted. This is due to a bug where the signature certificate has expired for verification. You must open the terminal when starting the installer and set the date to Jan 1st 2016 through this command: date 0101010116 Sources: https://archive.org/details/install-os-x-mavericks.app https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/216730/this-copy-of-the-install-os-x-el-capitan-application-cant-be-verified-it-may-h#219067 https://www.macworld.com/article/222175/how-to-make-a-bootable-mavericks-install-drive.html
