Genius VHR Display Drivers & Manual

1990 · operating-system · driver · Windows 3.x · Micro Display Systems, Inc

DOS and Windows 3.0 / 3.1 drivers for the Micro Display Systems (MDS) Genius VHR (Very High Resolution) display card. The HN27C64G ROM is also uploaded. This is a graphics card and matching monochrome, portrait display. The DOS drivers are needed to use the full screen, and enable simultaneous MDA and CGA on one monitor. The Windows drivers were extracted from a running system. I created the startup splash screen for Windows 3.1, the original is included as GEN1LOGO.BAK. The DOS drivers are version 4.5. Load VHR_ANSI.SYS, then use VHR to change the display preferences or mode. The PDF manual details how to use the driver, configure the card, and program its memory. The 2nd PDF details how to modify popular software packages to work with the 66 line display.
