Originally posted to alt.binaries.old.nl by MeiMei. Welcome to the Hobbes OS/2 Archive CDROM! This CDROM contains the Hobbes OS/2 Archives from the Internet site at ftp-os2.cdrom.com. Most of the files on this disc are either zip or zoo archives. There are programs provided in the \utils\dos and \utils\os2 directories for extracting these files. We've included a program that helps move around on the disc. Type 'view' or 'os2view' when in the root directory of the CDROM drive. This program navigates through the complete zipped collection. ============================================================================== Here is a list of important files and directories on Disc 1: os2view.exe CDROM Navigation utility (OS/2) view.exe CDROM Navigation utility (MS-DOS) utils/w16view.exe CDROM Navigation utility (Windows 3.1) utils/w32view.exe CDROM Navigation utility (Windows 95/NT) readme.txt Information about this CDROM filename.txt All the file names. docs/ Walnut Creek CDROM Documentation docs/html Walnut Creek CDROM On-line Catalog disc1/archiver/ Compressors/De-compressors disc1/bbs/ OS/2 BBS packages, QWK Mail readers disc1/comm/ Communications & BBS programs/utilities disc1/cursors/ Mouse pointers for OS/2 disc1/demos/ Commercial Software Demos disc1/drivers/ Device Drivers disc1/editors/ Editors and text browsers disc1/educ/ Educational programs disc1/fonts/ Fonts and font utilities for OS/2 disc1/games/ Games disc1/graphics/ Graphics-related programs/utilities disc1/icons/ Icons for OS/2 disc1/info/ Various text/information files disc1/internet/ Internet programs, WWW, E-mail, FTP clients/servers disc1/mmedia/ Multimedia-related programs/utilities disc1/newsltr/ Newsletters/columns/frequently asked questions disc1/patches/ Patches and Corrective Service Diskettes (CSDs) disc1/patches/21fixes IBM OS/2 2.1x patches and CSDs disc1/patches/30fixes IBM OS/2 3.0 Warp patches and CSDs disc1/patches/40fixes OS/2 4.0 Patches disc1/patches/ibm_c IBM C/C++/CSet/Workframe patches and CSDs disc1/patches/kase KASE C/C++ GUI Development patches and CSDs disc1/patches/lanserv IBM LanServer patches and CSDs disc1/patches/lotus Lotus Corp. product patches and CSDs disc1/patches/misc Miscellaneous product updates and patches disc1/patches/tcpip TCP/IP Networking related patches and CSDs disc1/patches/watcom Watcom Corp. product patches and CSDS (includes VXREXX) disc1/print/ Printer Utilities disc2/cset_pp/ C++/CSet 2.0,2.01 patches & fixes disc2/datagl/ CSDs for DatagLANce disc2/dev32/ 32-bit development utilities/source code disc2/diskutil/ File/directory/disk utilities disc2/emacs/ GNU Emacs disc2/emx09c/ EMX v0.9c 32-bit programming environment disc2/ews/ IBM employee written software disc2/info/ Various text/information files disc2/lang/ Compilers and Interpreters for Programming languages disc2/lanserv/ Lan Server disc2/math/ Mathematical and simulation software disc2/mdos/ OS/2 DOS emulator utilities disc2/misc/ Miscellaneous Files disc2/mwave/ Windsurfer OS/2 beta disc2/ndis/ NDIS drivers and information disc2/netdoor/ NetDoor/2 product information disc2/netware/ Novell NetWare programs/information disc2/os2fixes/ OS/2 Fix Files disc2/postscri/ Postscript viewers/utilities disc2/rexx/ REXX related programs and utilities disc2/secure/ File/Message encryption utilities disc2/shellutl/ Command shell enhancements, utilities disc2/sysutil/ Various system utilities, memory usage meters, etc disc2/tcpip/ TCP/IP programs disc2/teamos2/ Team OS/2 information disc2/tex/ TeX typesetting language disc2/textapps/ Miscellaneous applications that run in text mode disc2/unix/ OS/2 Ports of UNIX apps disc2/visgen/ Visual builder & Visual Age C++ patches disc2/winos2/ Win-OS/2 session utilities disc2/wpsutil/ Various PM/Workplace Shell based utilities/programs disc2/wsurf/ Mwave WindSurfer - audio ============================================================================== Floppies of IBM diskette images can be created using the utils/os2/loaddskf.exe under DOS or OS/2. This attribute is carried with the file when it is either copied or "dragged and dropped" to a hard disk or floppy. This attribute must be cleared before the file can be deleted. From the command prompt type "attrib -r <filename>". From the Program Manager, open the settings pages for the file, select file, go to the third page, and un-check the "read-only" box. ============================================================================== Some files available on the OS/2 archives at ftp-os2.cdrom.com have been removed for this CDROM distribution because of copyright or export restriction. These include: CKermit DES Encryption for OS/2 ============================================================================== Opus -------------------------
