VIA MS-DOS sound drivers for motherboards with VIA VT82C686A/VT82C686B/VT8231 southbridges. These were commonly used in KX133/KT133/KT133A/KT266 chipsets. The drivers were collected from various motherboard driver CDs. The following versions are available: 1.09, 1.11, 1.20, 2.20. These version numbers refer to the VIA AC97 audio driver package that contains the DOS drivers. Recommended version to use: 1.11 for VT82C686A/VT82C686B, 2.20 for VT8231 The later versions 1.20 and 2.20 are missing VIAFMTSR.COM. This file is needed for FM music. It can be copied over from an earlier driver version and manually added to autoexec.bat. Installation: Unzip to a temporary folder and run install.exe. The source and destination folder must not be the same, otherwise the files will become corrupted and the system will freeze upon loading the driver. For example, do not run the installer from "c:\via" and have it install to "c:\via".
