The Gander program will allow users to browse, search, and print text files from the CDROM. Although the Gander program requires no installation (as it can run directly off of the disc), you can install the program onto your hard drive using our SETUP program. To run the installation WHICH IS ENTIRELY OPTIONAL: 1) Start up Windows 2) Choose RUN from the Program Manager File manu to see the RUN dialog box. 3) In the command line box, type D:\setup (If the D: drive is not your CDROM drive, change it to the appropriate CDROM drive letter.) 4) Click OK to start the installation. Please consult the GANDER.DOC file in the \docs\ directory for full documentation on using GANDER.EXE. =========================================================================== USING THE DISC -- MACINTOSH To use the disc using a Macintosh, merely double-click on the file you wish to view. =========================================================================== This disk conforms to the level 1, ISO-9660 format. All the filenames are limited to eight single-case characters, with an extension of up to three characters. Most directories have an index file named 00_index.txt that contains a description of each file in the directory. =========================================================================== Opus -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The \_bbs\opus directory contains the tools that created the files.bbs file in each subdirectory. These should be usable with Remote Access / TubFile / Opus / QuickBbs / Superbbs. Maximus -------------------------------------------------------------------------- \_bbs\maxtool contains a utility to copy the files.bbs files to one directory on your hard disk and create the hcdareas.ctl file that points to the index files. A prebuilt control file is in this directory. Thanks to Koos v
