DOS

driver · utility · development · Microstaff Co

This seems to be a pretty universal driver for DVD-RAM drives by Microstaff Co in Japan. If the version of DOS you are using supports FAT32 this driver will allow you to use FAT32 formatted DVD-RAM drives allowing the full 4.7 GB per side of some types of the disc to be able to be used. Documentation appears to be in Japanese and the software is in English. Some of the old site still exists if you need additional documentation in Japanese. Whom I presume to be creator/owner of the software gave me permission to distribute with the understanding that the software is not supported. For best results use only the files related to the DVD RAM drive. Once you execute the driver properly the DVD RAM disks will be a separate drive letter.[eg. CD-rom disks will be D: then DVD RAM disks will be E:] I will see if I can dig up my old boot disk which included the files for a normal boot of the computer with any IDE drive I have tested.
