Issue three of aneCDote is finally in your CD-ROM machines and spinning away. Why the delay? I hear you ask. I can only answer that by saying that we are trying to keep the material in aneCDote of the highest quality whilst being useful and fun at the same. You may not agree that all of the material hits this, but we did our best. In this issue we have included some lovely clip art and clip sound (CD-DA: i.e. CD quality Digital Audio, not Sound Blaster!), some high quality (as well as interesting) text databases and books. We have some jolly nice Video for Windows stuff for you, too!. For contractual reasons, we have had to remove the KimStacks and Microinfo catalogues from this edition of Anecdote Volume 1, number 3. This unfortunately means that the Windows and Macintosh demonstrations are not available on this version of the disc. However, if you have Windows or Apple Macintosh material that you wish to send for inclusion on future, we will be very happy to consider them. Windows users can play with the Indeo Video for Windows clip in the /DISK1 directory (Note: Intel's name for the video clip is not that given in the instructions!) So much is going on in the world of CD-ROMs. Nimbus has been making discs now for six years. Never have we seen such broad interest. A great deal of communication from schools and private addresses makes us feel that CD-ROM has finally reached the penetration that designates success. From the drive sales figures we are hearing about, you lot are getting into CD-ROM in a big way. Why not write and tell us what you would like to see on the next edition of aneCDote? Why not submit some data that you would like other people to see? Are any of you out there users of the other magazine "Nautilus"? And before you ask, if any of you have stumbled across a disc called "American aneCDote" then the answer is Yes! It is Nimbus, but the USA plant has decided to flatter us with their own copy (no doubt with colour spelt wrong). You wouldn't believe the places that aneCDote turns up.
