Commodore 64 Disk Copier Archive - Fast Hack 'Em Parameters
utility · application · Commodore 64 · Mike J. Henry
Fast Hack'em is a Commodore 64 disk copier, nibbler and disk editor written by Mike J. Henry, first released in 1985. Distributed in the US and Canada through Basement Boys Software and in the UK through Datel Electronics. The nibbler copies disks bit-by-bit at a very low level, bypassing deliberate disk errors, non-standard track layouts and other copy protection schemes used by commercial software. A protected disk copies in around 60 seconds with two 1541 drives, or three minutes with one. Unprotected disks copy in 35 seconds with two drives. Later versions added parameter files — these record the exact protection method used by individual titles so copies can be re-protected and run correctly. Also supports the MSD SD-2 dual drive and standalone copying between two 1541s without the computer attached once loaded.
