Sound Diver 3.0.5.4 (Final Windows Release)

2002 · music · operating-system · utility · development · Windows · Emagic

A librarian program for storing data for MIDI compatible devices including synthesizers, patch bays, sequencers, effect processors and samplers, Emagic's Sound Diver was a stable and versatile editor that was distributed both standalone, and in special OEM releases with some audio hardware products. A CD-ROM with Sound Diver was distributed with certain Roland synthesizer packages, this version will only recognize and edit JV/XV/XP architecture synthesizers, though could be registered and upgraded to the full version license at any time. Sound Diver 3.0.5.4 is the final known commercial release for Windows. There appears to be no DRM or copy protection, or it has been defeated in this copy of the program. It is entirely compatible with Windows 10 x64, as of the May 2019 update and all features are functional. Emagic, well known for introducing Logic (as C-Lab Software) would be bought out by Apple Inc. in 2002, at the same time Sound Diver would become Mac exclusive. Support and development for all Emagic products subsequently ended by 2005.
