macOS 14.3.1 USB Installer (Sonoma)

operating-system · macOS · Linux · Apple Inc.

This is a USB installer I created for macOS 14.3.1 (Sonoma). This Installer needs a USB storage drive of at least 32GB in size (has a 16GB HFS+ partition plus a empty partition of 15GB afterwards). I created this since macOS 14.4 updated ended changing the way macOS handles drivers. So things like opencore files to boot on 14.4 and newer (this is the last update before 14.4). As well as other things like java and printer divers filed to work after 14.4 as well. And despite the 14.3.1 update only being half a year old the update servers no longer have its file for broadcast. So its only possible to get from a third party sources. there are ipsw files still being broadcast but their are only for Arm64 (apple silicon) devices, this USB image will also work with x86_64 (intel) devices . You will need to decompress the image (xz) before writing. Some software like gnome disk utility on Linux can do this while writing the image at the same time.
