WADS of WADS A CD ROM User Group (UK) CD containing hundreds of new levels and utilities for Doom. A special quote regarding the CD by PyroBit on the DoomWorld Forum: " Many years ago I was co-moderator for the Doom forum on "Compulink Information eXchange" (CIX) UK. CIX was modelled lightly on Compuserve but had a more UK feel to the forums. This made it perfect for my young self who was at the beginning of a steep learning curve having transferred from IBM/Unisys Mainframes to PC Desktop Support and Unix. During the summer of 1994, CRUG put an announcement in the Doom forum about compiling a collection of Wads from anyone who wanted to add their files and so it started that a catalogue was built in the file store of the forum. Everyone who donated files was credited on the rear of the CD sleeve. The CD went to press in August 94 and members announced that the y received their copies in November 94. It felt real good to receive a proper pressed CD that contained a map or two that you helped to develop. I probably still have the CD in storage as every time I purge the loft space I always put the CD back in archive purely due to the connection I have with it. There were of course some very good maps out their in 1994, two in particular that stand out for me was "Trinity" based on Trinity College Oxford and "Lucas" which was based on the offices I worked at in Cirencester. Our urinals were teleport stations. The developer of our office based WAD now designs PCBs for Apple. Makes me happy to see the compilation is still remembered. regards Nick.W "
