Microsoft Windows/286 Version 2.1 This is an operating system released by Microsoft, which creates a user-space on top of real-mode DOS for running graphical programs, including the Presentation Manager graphical user interface which was co-developed with IBM. It was released in 1988 for use with Intel's 80286 line of processors. Compared with later versions of Windows, Windows/286 was not commercially successful. The ZIP file includes thirteen 5.25" 360K floppy disk images created with a raw read utility in an MS-DOS computer with a standard 5.25" floppy disk drive. The disks contain the FAT12 file system and as such can be read natively by any Disk Operating System. Pictures of the media are included in the archive.
