Windows 98, 2000, XP Xbox 360 Wired Controller Driver for all brands Requirements: Windows 98 Second or First Edition (ME untested), 2000, or XP USB 2.0 (NUSB Drivers included) Connect XBox controller BEFORE you install this Driver ------------------------------ Windows 98 Instructions: 1. Install USB 2.0 Drivers, then reboot 2. Plug in Xbox Wired USB controller 3. When prompted, direct the hardware installer dialogue to x360c.inf in either the Newer Drivers or Original Drivers folder, then reboot. If successful, an entry will be added in Control Panel / Joysticks. 4. If it fails, try a different version (older or newer). I've had more success with the Original drivers. --SmokeMonster ------------------------------ Notes: - Wireless controllers are not supported - This driver is only for WIRED Xbox 360 controllers - If installation fails: Copy files to their respective folders: 360c.sys to Windows/system32/drivers, and the rest to Windows/system - If characters do not appear in Windows 98, try changing the font of your notepad Troubleshooting: If controller does not work or was not detected properly after installing this driver, try: Extract x360c.w98.x86.en.zip Then: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Device Manager -> select XBox controller -> Update/Install driver -> Browse to where you extracted the ZIP above -> double-click x360c.inf -> Apply/OK Reboot if prompted
