Slyther OS 1.0 “Viper” is an independent Linux-based operating system built on Ubuntu Cinnamon 26.10. Designed to combine a familiar, Windows-inspired desktop experience with the flexibility of Linux, Slyther OS features the Cinnamon desktop environment, custom snake-inspired branding, the Brave browser, WINE compatibility for many Windows applications, and HISS (HISS Is Ssssuper Sssmooth), a custom package-management wrapper. **Features** - Windows-inspired Cinnamon desktop - Custom Slyther OS branding and dark theme - Brave web browser - WINE for compatibility with many Windows applications - HISS command-line package-management wrapper **Important:** This is beta software. Some features may have known issues, including graphical update-manager errors, a Blueman issue in VirtualBox, and an Ubuntu startup splash on installed systems. Back up important data before installation and carefully verify the target drive. The documented update workaround is `sudo hiss upgrade`. Slyther OS — Slither into something different.
