ICM EOSystem 3.0 by ICM/AZ Soft. It is an operating system/shell/menu app for Japanese PC-98 computers, running on top of DOS. This version is shipped with a calendar/scheduler, an alarm clock, a file manager, a text editor, a catalog app, and a disk service utility. This OS supports installation of apps through built-in IBF/IBA script system, as well through MAOIX (Microsoft, ASCII Corp etc standard). It has support for different Japanese FEP (front-end processors, nowadays known as IME, or Input Method Editors), i.e. ATOK. Note that the original version is not Y2K compliant, but it can be fixed with a third-party patch. == Installation instructions == 1. Prepare two floppy disks. They can be 1.2MB or 1.44MB 2. Format disks to FAT12, as regular MS-DOS floppies 3. Label the disks as DATADISK (that can be done during formatting or changed with LABEL command) 4. Unpack the content of the archives (disk 1 and disk 2) to the floppies. Make sure that Disk 2 has DISK2 file on it! 5. Set the computer's date to 1999 or earlier, as this program has a Y2K problem. You might have encounter problems if you don't do that, as EOSystem 3.0 installs itself in AUTOEXEC.BAT by default. 6. Insert Disk 1 into your floppy drive, and launch the install program with INST.COM 7. The installer application will ask you for the floppy drive letter, and the path to the target directory. After that, it will copy the system files. 8. At some point, the installer will ask you to insert Disk 2 instead of Disk 1. After that, installation will resume. 9. Finally, the installer will ask whether you want to adjust AUTOEXEC.BAT on your target drive or not. This adds the target directory to the PATH statement, and adds EOS.COM at the end of the AUTOEXEC.BAT After that, you can install the Y2K patch.
