BoatOS — Open Source Marine OS for Raspberry Pi BoatOS is a Linux-based operating system built specifically for boats and marine electronics. It runs on a Raspberry Pi 4 and provides offline navigation, AIS integration, sensor monitoring, logbook functionality, and a full dashboard — accessible via browser (Deck) or on a dedicated touchscreen (Helm). This is the official disk image of version 1.7.0 (current stable release). Installation: Write the image directly to an SD card or SSD using balenaEtcher or the Raspberry Pi Imager (or dd on Linux/macOS). No further setup required to boot — network and sensor configuration is handled through the built-in settings menu after first boot. Requirements: Raspberry Pi 4 (recommended), min. 32GB storage. License: Software licensed under GPL-3.0.
