Nintendo Baseball – Score Drift Fix

1985 · history · NES · Historical Archive Partnership (HAP)

Nintendo Baseball (1985) – Score Drift Fix v1.0 A preservation patch by the Historical Archive Partnership (HAP) that corrects an original score-drift defect in Nintendo Baseball's attract/demo mode. In the unpatched game, team-total score data is not reliably cleared before a new attract-mode demonstration. When a later demo scores, runs can be added to a stale total from an earlier demonstration, causing the displayed team score to incorrectly drift upward. This patch clears the affected score-total data before Nintendo's original routine runs. It is intentionally limited to this defect and does not alter gameplay, AI, demo order, inning progression, graphics, sound, or controls. The release includes the IPS patch, documentation, verification information, and screenshots. Copyrighted Nintendo ROM binaries are not included. Users must supply a compatible ROM from their own lawfully obtained source. Historical Archive Partnership (HAP) Preservation • Research • Engineering E.
